Turbofan Explorer — Jet Engine in Interactive 3D
Techartist
@techartist_ · 16.8K followersA browser-based interactive turbofan engine that walks you through every stage of jet propulsion — Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow — in cinematic 3D. Built with Three.js and Claude Opus 5.5, it renders a photorealistic airplane engine with animated spinning fan blades, a cutaway view that peels back the nacelle, a scrubbing timeline from Wing to Exploded, and a follow-camera mode that glides you through the intake to exhaust. Educational captions appear at each stage. Engineering education has never looked this good in a browser.
- Full cutaway 3D turbofan with animated fan blades and a scrubbing timeline across Wing, Cutaway, Flow, and Exploded views
- Stage-by-stage narration (Suck · Squeeze · Bang · Blow) with contextual captions and adjustable playback speed
- Cinematic follow-camera mode and engine controls panel for hands-on exploration
“Engineering doesn't have to be learned from flat diagrams. A jet engine in interactive 3D, from intake to exhaust. Built with Claude Opus 5.5 using Three.js.”
