Lumen Vale — Browser Minecraft with Real Lighting
Noah Wachnik
@noahwachnik · 186 followersA fully playable voxel world in the browser that makes actual Minecraft look dated. Lumen Vale renders 665 chunks at 120fps with soft sun shadows, drifting clouds, light shafts, and water that mirrors the sky in real time. A settings panel lets you scrub time-of-day, toggle sky conditions, and seed new worlds — all saved in-browser. Noah Wachnik built this with Claude Opus 5.5 and called it the most insane LLM result he'd ever seen. Hard to argue.
- Real-time global illumination with soft shadows, light shafts, and reflective water — all running at 120fps in a browser tab
- Full world controls: scrub time-of-day, switch sky between clear/fair/overcast, and generate seeded worlds
- 665 voxel chunks rendered simultaneously, matching or exceeding the visual fidelity of the game that inspired it
“Opus 5.5, The Minecraft Test. By far the most INSANE result I've ever seen from an LLM. Almost better than actual Minecraft... But in my browser. More below”
